Resolute Racing’s Kentucky-bred In Our Time commanded every point of call to win the $1.75 million Ladies Turf Sprint (G1) at Kentucky Downs.
Trained by Saffie Joseph, Jr., the 5-year-old mare returned to Kentucky Downs one year following a 2025 meet which included a third-place finish in the Ladies Turf (G3) and a victory in an allowance optional claimer.
Emerging from post eight under Micah Husbands, In Our Time led through opening fractions of 22.79 and 45.39 over the firm turf. At the top of the stretch, In Our Time extended her advantage and drew off to a 3 ½-length triumph. She stopped the timer in 1:16.01 for the 6 1/2 furlongs on turf.
“There wasn’t anyone with as much speed as us, so I just let her cruise and tried to take a long hold and not grab at her head,” said Husbands. “She was just cruising.”
In Our Time became racing’s newest millionaire, earning $1,026,813 from her victory, over doubling her bankroll to $1,993,305. Her record now stands at 20-6-6-3. She also gave her sire, Not This Time, his 14th lifetime Grade 1 winner and fourth Grade 1 winner this year. Runner-up Time to Dazzle is also a daughter of Not This Time.
Bred in Kentucky by Brian Kahn, In Our Time was a $325,000 purchase at the 2022 Keeneland September Sale. She is out of the Cactus Ridge mare Laura’s Pleasure, who also produced Important Mission, a stakes-winning sprinter in the Middle East.
