A total of 19 Kentucky-bred comprise 22-of-33 Eclipse Award finalists led by the likes of Kentucky Derby (G1) and Belmont S. (G1) winner Sovereignty, Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Good Cheer, and the undefeated 2-year-old Ted Noffey, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). Finalists also include additional Breeders’ Cup winners Scylla, Cy Fair, Super Corredora, Nysos, and Shisospicy, as well as Thorpedo Anna, the Horse of the Year in 2024.
The 2025 Resolute Racing Eclipse Award recognize excellence over the past year in Thoroughbred racing. The 55th annual event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, and the evening will culminate with the announcement of the 2025 Horse of the Year. Finalists were determined in each category by voters’ top three selections, using a 10-5-1 point basis. Eclipse Award winners are determined solely by first-place votes.
